New chapter, new home

A new chapter does not always start off calmly and smoothly, but sometimes with a series of unexpected hurdles. After weeks of planning and challenges, we finally arrived in Polk County, Wisconsin, at the beginning of June. What sounded like a regular move quickly turned into a rollercoaster ride: just one week before our planned departure, we suddenly found ourselves without a place to live. Visa changes threw our plans into disarray and also prolonged the entire process.
The first few weeks here in Polk County were a rollercoaster ride. Everything is new (again): the surroundings, the people, everyday life—even the sounds outside sound different. After an intense time at Bible College, where our daily routine was structured, often tightly scheduled, and challenging, the sudden arrival in a normal everyday life is almost surreal. Suddenly there is time. Space. Silence. And also questions that quietly linger: How do we shape our new life?

Being in the right place at the right time
Despite all the changes, we have deep peace because we know that we are at the right place at the right time. We have entered a new chapter in faith, excited to see what God will write in it and how we can be part of His story.
For us, there is nothing better and safer than living in God's will. Even if not all circumstances are clear, one thing is certain: when Christ is at the center, He becomes great—and our challenges become small. As John the Baptist said, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).
This change in perspective makes all the difference. When we look to Jesus, our questions, worries, and uncertainties fall into place. Not because they disappear, but because they are under His control.

What to expect
In the next few posts, we would like to take you along into our everyday life here—into the small and big stories that make Polk County our new home. It's about encounters, changes, new routines, and the question of how to build a life with depth and trust amid so many questions.
Welcome to Walk His Story. We are happy to have you join us at “Faith in motion.”
