Moving Forward

In the Bible, we encounter a scene that still gives us courage today: The Israelites, after decades of slavery in Egypt, finally stand on the brink of freedom. But then they face what seems like an impossible obstacle – the Red Sea. Behind them are the chains of the past, before them a massive wall of water. And in that very moment, God calls out through Moses: “Move forward!”
What a command! How are they supposed to move forward when everything looks hopeless? Yet it’s exactly here that true trust in God is revealed: not when we understand everything, not when the path is clear – but when we dare to take one step at a time. And as we all know, the waters parted when they took that step. A miracle that was waiting for their obedience.
Our Own Step – Forward Church
We’re experiencing something similar in our own lives right now. After months of prayer, vision, and trust, we’ve taken big steps toward planting a church in Wisconsin. The name of the church will be Forward Church. The name wasn’t chosen by chance — it reminds us every day that we don’t have to wait until every detail is perfect. We can simply move forward boldly, one step at a time — and God will prepare the way.
We know that we can’t control every circumstance or obstacle — we’ve already talked about that in earlier blog posts. But we also know this: God goes before us. He has prepared the way, the sea of our challenges will part, the step has already been blessed — we just need to obediently follow His voice.
After the Vision Night, where we shared our vision and the idea behind the name, something surprising happened: we were told that the state flag of Wisconsin also bears the word “Forward.” Wow — we had no idea when we chose the name!

Moving Forward in Everyday Life – Boldly, Step by Step
Maybe you’re standing in front of your own “Red Sea” right now — a difficult decision, a dream that’s been put on hold, or a relationship that just isn’t moving forward. Just like the Israelites, things may look blocked — but the message remains the same: move forward.
Moving forward doesn’t mean everything has to be perfect or that we have to understand it all. It means:
Listen to and focus on God’s voice.
Take the first step, even when the whole path is still covered in fog.
Trust that He will carry you, even when you can’t yet see the outcome.
For us personally, this feels incredibly exciting right now. With every step toward Forward Church, we notice how God opens doors and gives us courage — even when we didn’t know beforehand how everything would fit together.
Take your step today. Your sea isn’t waiting for you to analyze it — it’s waiting for you to walk toward it.
Walk His Story – one step further every day.
